Tile installation
Bathroom floors and walls, tile showers, kitchen backsplashes, mudroom and entry floors, and heated floor systems — installed on a substrate that will not crack the grout in two years.
What we install
- Tile showers with a full waterproofing membrane system, sloped pan, and sealed corners
- Porcelain and ceramic floors over the correct backer or uncoupling membrane
- Large-format tile with proper mortar coverage and leveling
- Backsplashes, including glass, subway, and mosaic
- Heated floor systems under tile — the best money you will spend on a Minnesota bathroom
- Natural stone, sealed appropriately
The substrate decides everything
Cracked tile and failing grout are almost never a tile problem. They come from a deflecting floor, missing uncoupling membrane, or tile set straight on drywall in a wet area. We check subfloor deflection, add underlayment where needed, and use the right membrane for the location.

FAQ
Why is my tile grout cracking?
Usually movement — a subfloor that deflects, or no uncoupling membrane. Regrouting without fixing the substrate just resets the clock on the same failure.
Is heated tile floor worth it in Minnesota?
In a bathroom, it is one of the most-loved upgrades we install. It is inexpensive to add during a tile job and expensive to retrofit later.
Can you tile over an existing floor?
Sometimes, if it is flat, sound, and bonded, and the added height works at the doors. Usually we tear out and start with a proper substrate.
